The Stadium Business Awards 2026: Kai Tak Sports Park named “Venue of the Year”

International Recognition: Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Sports Park was named “Venue of the Year” at the 2026 Stadium Business Awards held at Old Trafford, UK, beating out major global venues such as Co-op Live, Croke Park, Marvel Stadium, and MetLife Stadium.

Early Success: Since its opening, the Sports Park has already hosted nearly 150 events and welcomed over 2.4 million spectators.

URBIS’s Long-Term Involvement: URBIS has been involved with the project for over two decades:

• 2000–2005: Commissioned by the Hong Kong government to conduct initial consultancy studies, which established the need for a major multi-purpose stadium and determined its location at Kai Tak.
• Master Planning: Prepared the master plan for the Sports Park under the Kai Tak Development Planning and Engineering Study.
• 2012–Construction: Supported architects Leigh & Orange on the technical feasibility study, provided planning, urban design, landscape design, and horticultural services, and assisted with tender documentation and construction supervision.
